Pro AmThis charity golf tournament has been part of the Kentucky Derby Festival since 1974. An event of the Derby Festival Foundation, its mission is to provide services to local charities while showing golfers a good time. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit The First Tee of Louisville.

In 2009, the Pro-Am raised more than $11,000 for the Festival's Foundation. Since it was first held in 1974, the Pro-Am Golf Tournament has raised more than $250,000 for a wide variety of charitable organizations. The Derby Festival Pro-Am Golf Tournament started in 1974 as the Philip Morris/Kentucky Derby Festival Pro-Am Golf Tournament and has been a popular and elite tournament in Kentuckiana ever since. Over the years, the event has featured celebrities such as Pee Wee Reese, Pee Wee King, George Blanda and Denny Crum.

The First Tee of Louisville is a local chapter of The First Tee, which has more than 200 chapters in the United States and abroad. The First Tee was founded in 1997 and is a youth development organization based on the platform of golf. It was created by the World Golf Foundation, with the support of the USGA, the PGA of America, the PGA Tour, the LPGA and Augusta National Golf Club. The First Tee has introduced the game of golf and its values to more than 2.2 million participants and students in 48 states and four international locations - Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Singapore.
