Register for Festival Races beginning July 1

Registration for the 2011 Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon presented by Walmart will open online July 1 at www.derbyfestivalmarathon.com. Combined entries for both races will once again be capped at 15,000 participants for the April 30 event. This year's field was closed in late March, with no late entries available. Entry fees for the miniMarathon are $50 until Jan. 31, 2011; fees for the Marathon are $65 until Jan. 31, 2011.
The 13.1-mile mini and the 26.2-mile Marathon will start simultaneously on April 30 near Iroquois Manor shopping center in the largest annual day of road racing in Kentucky. Registration for the races opens July 1 at www.derbyfestivalmarathon.com. The race route will once again include a lap around the infield at historic Churchill Downs; Marathon runners will also complete a short loop in Southern Indiana before returning to downtown Louisville at about Mile 24.
