The Kentucky Derby Festival is pleased to announce the presenting sponsors of Thunder Over Louisville, the Derby Festival's Opening Ceremonies, to be held on April 17 on the Louisville waterfront. Sponsoring the 2010 Thunder show will be E.ON U.S., Horseshoe Casino and Hotel, Meijer and UPS. In addition to the four presenting sponsors, McDonald's Restaurants of Kentuckiana will return as title sponsor of the McDonald's Thunder Funder Program.
"This is the fourth consecutive year that the four presenting sponsors of Thunder Over Louisville have stepped up to help us produce an entire day of free entertainment that is unmatched anywhere in the country," said Mike Berry, President and CEO of the Kentucky Derby Festival. "The support of these generous sponsors really is a gift for the entire community. Without their sponsorship - along with McDonald's Thunder Funder Program - we simply wouldn't be able to produce the Thunder show that public has come to expect and anticipate."
This is the 20th consecutive year that UPS has been a presenting sponsor of Thunder Over Louisville. Horseshoe Casino and Hotel has been a Thunder presenting sponsor for 11 consecutive years; Meijer and E. ON U.S. have both been Thunder sponsors for the past four years in a row.
The 2010 McDonald's Thunder Preview Party will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, at Bowman Field. The event gives attendees a sneak peek at the Thunder show and will feature a McDonald's playground area, elements of the Thunder Air Show and a pilot "meet and greet." Admission is free with a 2010 Pegasus Pin or McDonald's Thunder Funder cup. Over the past three years, the McDonald's Thunder Funder program helped to raise more than $350,000 for Thunder Over Louisville.

Thunder Over Louisville - the Derby Festival's Opening Ceremonies - is one of the more than 70 events produced by the Derby Festival in the spring. The 2010 Thunder Over Louisville, themed Thunder Fever, is set for Saturday, April 17, and will be the will be the 21st annual production. The show is sponsored by E.ON U.S., Horseshoe Casino and Hotel, Meijer and UPS.
