Kentucky Derby Festival Spirit
Every spring the Kentucky Derby Festival represents a time of community, excitement and celebration. Although this year will be different, there are still many ways for you to enjoy and help share that spirit. Here are some ideas to get you started. Be sure to check out KDF.org for more details and opportunities to be part of the 2021 Festival.
Get A Pin, Give A Pin
Support the Kentucky Derby Festival and the 2021 Pegasus Pin Program by purchasing a pin for yourself, and then pay it forward by getting a pin for someone else. Give them to your family, friends, neighbors, teachers, postal workers, grocery store clerks and others to help spread the Derby Festival spirit! Your act of kindness also counts for the Mayor’s Give A Day initiative. (Don’t forget to register your pin online at PegasusPins.com to be eligible for the Grand Prizes!)

• Porch Parade - We are calling on the community to decorate their porches, yards and homes in honor of this year’s Derby Festival season. Post your photos on social media using the hashtags #PegasusPorchParade or #DerbyFestivalSpirit.
• Spot a Balloon- When balloons take to the sky on Saturday, April 24th for the Kroger Great BalloonFest Tribute, snap a photo and share on social using the hashtag #SpotABalloon for a chance to win your own hot air balloon ride.
• In the Know- Follow @KyDerbyFestival (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), @KDFMarathon (Facebook, Twitter) and @ThunderOverLouisville (Facebook) for the latest updates on the 2021 events, as well as details on special promotions.
Burst into Spring with shirts featuring our bright and bold 2021 Kentucky Derby Festival poster design. Shirts are available in uni- sex and ladies cut, and in a variety of colors. Many items from our 2021 collection are available at local retailers including area Kroger stores. The complete 2021 line including posters, glass- ware and other items can be ordered online at KDF.org.
